Haywards Heath (Away)

28th October 2009
They say that getting there is half the fun, well John Lovelace and Keith Norman will certainly testify to that!
The day dawned misty & mild with heavy dew everywhere, 8 team members from CHGC, on their way to rescue a 3 to 1 defeat at the Heath back in early June. I had offered Keith Norman & John Lovelace a lift to HH, Wally & Bob did their thing, Keith Manhood & Nigel D did theirs and Chuck appeared and disappeared.
I was not aware that I had this reputation for speedy driving, (although I am aware in the distant past young Terry aged dramatically overnight after the CHGC Tour of Bournemouth) so when Keith & John arrived hot and trembling, I, of course could not understand why? It was only when we touched 120mph on the M23 pulling about 5G of gravity that I found out! (Much screaming coming from the back seat) Read more »

Thursday’s Quiz Night
Written by admin on October 25, 2009 – 11:26 am22nd October
The Monthly Camberley Heath Quiz night kicked off at 7:30 with 36 keen contestants all looking to take away one of the 18 bottles of wine given as prizes for the winning teams.
Vice Captain Wally Walton and his able assistant Bob Rickwood managed the proceeding with Wally acting as quiz master during the first half and Bob managing the second half. Wally with his well honed skills, developed over many years on the auction floor, ensured the first half ran like clockwork with little or no dissension from the floor. His masterful control was a joy to behold.
At half time the teams were all in with a reasonable chance of a win, and welcomed the opportunity to refresh themselves with vocal lubrication from the bar and a delightful choice of Lasagne, Salad and Garlic bread or Chicken Curry, Rice and Popodum. The food was excellent and at £5:50 per person, outstanding value for money. Read more »

Members Update
Written by admin on October 25, 2009 – 11:17 amDear Member
As I am sure the majority of you are aware by now the board of directors have undertaken a complete review of all the departments and services that are offered to you as members of Camberley Heath Golf Club. During this process we have also taken on board, your comments and aspirations for the future of our club. We as a board are committed to improving and maintaining the undoubted reputation that the club has rightly established in it’s near hundred-year history.
With the centenary of 2013 very much in mind we are very excited about the opportunities that are ahead of us. I can confirm that the process to appoint the new general manager nears completion. At the time of writing there are two candidates in the running, one gentleman and one lady with the final decision expected in the next 7 to 10 days and the successful candidate joining us early in the New Year. The board will be setting measurable objectives across all aspects of the club to deliver improved services to all members, a policy that is not negotiable as we want the best for everyone. As you will appreciate these improvements cannot be delivered overnight and I hope you will give us the time and opportunity to work towards these goals. Read more »
